UK Label FatFace Is Coming To The USA

UK favorite FatFace is heading stateside with not only a US-based site, but a brick-and-mortar destination as well. The first stop for the brand? New England! A store will be opening up in Portland, Maine, with others to follow.

The story behind FatFace is pretty dope; it all started when a pair of die-hard ski fans began selling printed sweatshirts from the back of their camper to pay for ski trips. Their top destination was La Face in the French Alps, hence the name "FatFace." (Well, I'm still not sure where the "fat" came from, but it's got a nice ring!) Now, the line includes a full range of clothing for men, women, and kids.

I took my own FatFace look, a lightweight printed raincoat perhaps not unlike the brand's first sweatshirts, out for a spin here in Florida, where I recently moved from Boston, MA. It ended up being a very wise purchase - the weather here is known to be sunny one minute and pouring rain the next. So, needless to say, this baby is permanently stashed in my purse.

It's been 30 years since they launched from the back of a van, but apparently, FatFace still knows how to rock a roadtrip; they traveled from Boston to Portland and the White Mountains to film a video, along with some locals, that seamlessly blends the brand with the spirit of New England.
