Easy Breezy Summer Sundress
As reported earlier, I'll now be blogging to you live from Sunny, hot hot hot Florida. So hot, in fact, that I, a notorious comforter-sleeper, air-conditioning turn-offer, doesn't-leave-the-house-without-a-blazer girl like me is now most likely found standing in front of an open refrigerator door somewhere sipping lemonade straight from the container.
Always one to dress for the occasion (even if the occasion does result in accidentally defrosting my food) I've been wearing lots and lots of super breezy sundresses - the lighter and airier, the better.
I love the retro, Marrakech-inspired print and silhouette of this number from perennial sundress one-stop-shop Old Navy. It wears like a shift, but with slim straps and a "who, moi?" racerback cut in back, a strapless bra is a must - visible bra straps are a big no-no in my book, rhinestone studded or not. One might see that as an annoying extra step, but I think it's one that makes a no-brainer dress like this one just a little more formal and special-feeling, and makes you walk just a little straighter and taller - a plus when the outfit wears in all other ways just like cozy summer sleepwear.
Dress, Old Navy. Shoes, San Edelman. Bag, Random, from Paris. Sunglasses, Ray-Ban Wayfarers.
Doesn't the print of the dress match perfectly with the Orlando-by-way-of-Marrakech windows of this resort in Florida? I love finding unexpected architecture, even at an admittedly cheesy location.
