Joie Sundress + Butter London Lipstick In Trout Pout
Middle School me would hate me right now, but..."Back to School" is easily the most wonderful time of the year! It's still beautiful out, the September issues are in full swing (and the equally-as-great October issues are trickling in), Fashion Month is rearing it's head, and my birthday is right around the corner. (Middle School me would at least agree on that point.)
In celebration of the still-glorious weather, I practically live in (hey, when I love, I love hard) this Joie sundress that I scored at Nordstrom. It's the most delicious, sun-channeling shade of tangerine, and I love the vintage silhouette that practically begs to be taken on a Mediterranean cruise - or a spin around the Boston Commons. Plus, it's a rare feat when a tea-length dress with an all-over print and pockets is actually curve-enhancing, so major props to Joie.
It's still warm out now, but I'm already imagining pairing this with a blazer or layering it under chunky wool sweaters for a pop of color as the temperatures drop. Because that's another great thing about September; the wholehearted, well-meaning belief that cold weather is your fashion friend.
To go with it, I deviated from my usual red or fuschia lip color in favor of something a little lighter; I snagged some Butter London Lipstick in Trout Pout from my friend The Bostonista, who graciously allowed me to raid her makeup stash last week. I fell in love with the shade, a super-sweet pinky coral that seemed to perfectly pick up the shade of the dress and shades from my skin tone, as well.
