These Art Rugs From Cold Picnic Are NSFW
Well, you know what they say - home is where the boob rug is.
Or something like that - right? Cold Picnic, the Brooklyn-Based purveyor of minimalist-by-way-of-the-seventies jewelry, bags, and home furnishings launched the aptly named collection of naked rugs, "Private Parts," last spring, finally giving non-bashful decor junkies a way to walk all over the naked bod.
The 100% New Zealand wool yarn rugs are punctuated by inky swooshes depicting boobs, bush, and peen. The artwork itself is fittingly stripped down - simple and abstract.
There are five designs total, each available in black or white. Unlike the body parts they depict, most are available in one size only - Private Parts #4, which shows a female torso, is available in two sizes - 2'x3 and 3'x5.
The rugs will soon be joined by equally cheeky pillows and bath towels, the latter of which are part of a collab with Brooklyn-based boutique home goods company Aelfie. No word on window dressings yet, but I'm sure the drapes would match the carpet.
Cold Picnic was formed by Phoebe Sung and Peter Buer, who met in school in Boston and went on to start up their brand a few years later, settling into a Brooklyn studio where they started out with Made-to-Order offerings like the giant, wrap around ram’s head ring that I snapped up a few years ago.
Head over to Cold Picnic to score a penis, boob, or vagina rug of your own. Just be sure to hide them when your 'rents come over.
