For Your Interiors Or Your Bag, A Little Structure Is A Good Thing
One of Boston's best bag designers just so happens to also be one of Boston's best interior designers. Meichi Peng has been doing it all for over a decade now, curating perfectly balanced residential and commercial interiors and designing a concise but growing line of handmade bags from her perch in Boston's arts-centric SoWa.
Much like more mainstream luxury designers such as Dior, Stella McCartney and Celine, Peng has curated a line centered around year-round core models that are available in several sizes, colors, and materials. But, unlike the bigger design houses, Peng bags are hand-stitched in small batches. Translation: They're tres exclusive. Aside from the e-shop, they're only available at Meichi Peng in Boston, and Nuages in Aspen.
There's plenty of cross-over from Peng's studied but cheerful interior design aesthetic, evidenced in the clean lines and bright, earthy colors of the minimalist bags. Speaking of minimalism, each design has a number, not a name, making them sound more like Secret Agents than ultra-luxe handbags.
Oh, and in case you're wondering - they feel exactly as buttery as they look.
